Colchuck Lake via the Stuart Lake and Colchuck Lake Trail
Colchuck Lake is one of our favorite destinations in Washington. The hike is a steady climb of just over 2,300 ft (700 meters), spread over four miles. Your reward at the end is a jaw dropping view of Colchuck Lake. This blue/green alpine lake is truly enchanting. The morning light perfectly reflects Dragontail Peak and Colchuck Peak making for stunning photos! The cold waters invite you for a swim after the long climb, or just eat lunch on one of the many large boulders surrounding the lake.
Please note, this lake, along with Enchantments and Stuart Lake, have become quite popular, so be prepared for a long walk from your car just to get to the trailhead.
As always, please follow leave-no-trace principals and leave this area as you found it.
