Ice Lake Basin

Near Silverton, Colorado is the Ice Lake Basin, an 8.3 mile out and back trail with almost 3,000 ft of elevation gain. This trail is generally considered to be challenging and is quite popular. Dogs are welcome. Keep in mind the starting elevation here is 9845 Ft and you reach 12,274 Ft at the highest point. Make sure you are in great shape for this hike, and know the signs of altitude sickness if you are not used to physical activity at this altitude.
